Months of planning resulted in a fantastic 8th grade dance last weekend. Much like Christmas, weddings, and birthday parties the planning is really the most fun. We had several weekends of dress shopping. She was pampered with nails and hair. In the end, it was great (f not exhausting) fun. Here are some of my favorite pictures.

Daddy's girl
The day of the dance Rod brings me an article in the paper about people going overboard on prom and dances. Where has he been th10 or so proms? I remember doing assembly line hair and make-up for Joy’s prom. I learned that it is just as time consuming and expensive to get a boy ready for prom as it is a girl. Yes, some people do go overboard. I don’t think we do though. I feel like I work hard and earn what I make. If I want to spend some of it on a dress and heels, so be it. I’ve tried to count the proms and dances we’ve done and lost count. (boys get asked to lots of proms) Boo is our last one and I want it to be special. I won’t rent a billboard or anything. But I will make sure she feels like a princess.
