This week at I Heart Faces is all about Fall. The challenge is to share a picture and tell a story. I know that for me, I will always remember how our life changed forever in the fall. In fact, four years ago today, we brought our daughter home to live forever. She was eight years old when she came home and has taken us so many places in the last four years.
The picture below is her handing out candy dressed as a hunting princess. It is the perfect description of her. This is how she passed out candy, of course, with her dog, Lucky.

A few things about Boo. She:
- is a straight A student
- plays volleyball and basketball
- plays the clarinet and taught herself to play the organ at church
- wrote a story about her dog that was published in Chicken Soup For The Soul
- was on the live local news with her dog
- read her story at an adoption day celebration
- she is very kind to the elderly and young kids
- sings at church
- killed her first deer (we live in Texas)
- loves to fish
- won a beauty pageant
- is a majorette
- wants to be a vet and has watched the local vet do surgery
This is Boo. She packs so much into her young life and we are so proud of her. We can’t remember when she wasn’t here, and I know that sounds crazy. But it’s true. Fall and change makes me think of her, because I remember her coming home and all the things listed above that have taken place in the fall.
